Rustic Chic Dinner Party

Palm Beach Illustrated featured my annual Christmas dinner party for the their December issue. A rustic and chic table setting was created in my barn at Southern Oaks Farm. A vintage chandelier was adorned with a crown of silvery branches, lambs ear greenery, hanging silver pendants of felted hearts, and Swarvoski and selenite crystals. The 12' dining table was crafted with repurposed barn wood.

Mychildhood friend and ceramist, Sara Learner, handmade the ceramic plates with painted holly greenery motifs. The runner was custom made with Sacho fabric by Donghia. The elegant crystal glasses are by Moser -- my favorite and the finest crystal of all. The cutlery is a mix of family heirloom antique tortoiseshell cutlery and Pottery Barn silverware -- the ulitmate low/high brow apporach. The linen napkins are Pottery Barn with crystal celenite napkin rings.

Roger and Karen make their way to the barn down the candle lit gravel pathway. Sweet Marla loaned me 300 candles to line my walkway. The candles were saved from her wedding in Capri Italy. It added extra good karma to the dinner party. Love everywhere!

Roasted heirloom vegetables of beets, baby potatoes, and carrots with a white balsamic reduction.

Maude Eaton is the most glamourous chef! We are two Pea's in a Pod!! We share the same philopshy "Fabulous, but not perfect." It is a cast skillet in one hand and a Ferragamo mink handbag in the other... boom (mic drop).

Saffron scented couscous with green pistachios, dried cherries, and apricots, in a a hand made white tangine by ceramists, Sara Lerner. Cast iron roasted lamb with pomegranat molasses. YUM!!

Stephanie Kantis,Anthony Burroughs, Rodger and Karen Janssen. The ladies dressed in festive Ferragamo.

The menu was created to have a global/eclectic flavor. We combined a menu with an East meets West infusion.

A party is not complete without my best friend, Marla Degraeves.

Champange staton a must!!!

The beautiful daughter of Maude Eaton,Gabriella Sarraf, assists with the food preparation.

Maude adds a dash of last minute magic while entertaining Peter Robbins. Kitchen design should always be the focal point of the home. My giant island is always the center of the action!

My dearest friend Emily Pantelides and her husband converse with the talented jewelry designer, Stephanie Kantis.

Hand crafted truffles by Stuart Rosenberg gives a Belgian chocolatier nightmares.

Judy Leibowitz of Sweet Endings created the legendary mile high Sweet Georgia Coconut Bombe cake. The silver dusted macaroons are by Patrick Leze. These macaroons are clouds of sweetness, nestled in a forest of green feather trees by Roost.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a "Champs" toast to everyone to have a Joyful New Year!

Until next year........
