I'm not afraid of designing a baby's room that has black in it. With the right elements, a black and white nursery can be very chic. This baby's room was a bit on the glamorous side with a black Murano glass chandelier, black lacquered cabinets and crisp white counters, bedding, linen drapes and walls. The black velvet arm chair was a custom design with white lacquer details. To add a small pop of color, I used a blue that matches the Lanvin Blue Box as redesigned in 2006 by Alber Elbaz. (His take on the founder Jeanne Lanvin's favorite shade of forget-me-not blue, which she first spotted in a Fra Angelico fresco.) It is one of my favorite blues.
The Counters are made of Corian and I inset a baby's bath tub. We shaped the Corian to have it seamlessly fit with the counter.
